5 minute vegan strawberry sorbet
Yep, you read that right, this deliciousness only takes 5 minutes to make! Better yet, this strawberry sorbet recipe contains only two ingredients! All you need is some frozen strawberries, agave nectar and a food processor or high power blender. That’s it!
Homemade sorbet is one of my go-to desserts when it’s hot outside. There’s nothing better than that fruity taste and creamy texture.
I used to buy mine in tubs from the supermarket until I tried sorbet from an ice cream shop a few years ago. I noticed it was way creamier (or juicier) than the icy sorbet I was used to. Miraculously, I found that achieving this creamy texture was not only super simple but also a bit healthier than store-bought sorbet.
This strawberry sorbet recipe is low glycemic
I decided to use agave nectar in this recipe because it gives the same consistency of honey, and the flavour isn’t overpowering like it would be if you used maple syrup. And although agave nectar has a bad rap in the health world, I personally believe it’s better for your blood sugar levels than using white sugar.
So far, I’ve only tried this recipe with strawberries but I feel it would work very well with most other sweet fruits such as mango, pineapple or banana. You could also try switching things up by adding some extras such as a squeeze of lime, handful of mint or a splash of pineapple juice.
2 ingredient strawberry sorbet
This recipe is super easy to make but take note: once you’ve added the frozen strawberries to your food processor, you need to pour in the agave syrup little by little. That’s the key here- to add it in slowly. You don’t want a texture that’s too icy but you also don’t want it to be too watery either. Proceed with caution.
This sorbet recipe is meant for immediate serving. However, if you’re planning to make it and freeze it ahead of time, just give it another quick blend before serving. Enjoy!
