VEGAN APPLE CRUMBLE RECIPE

A sweet, soft and crumbly dessert that's perfect for Autumn.

Ingredients

  • 350 g Bramley apples approx 1 very large apple
  • 2 Tablespoons caster sugar
  • 100 g Self-raising flour
  • 40 g Soft brown sugar
  • 1 Teaspoon cinnamon
  • 40 g Vegan butter

To serve (optional)

  • Vegan vanilla ice cream or soya cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 190°C / Gas 5.
  2. Peel and core the apples then cut into thin slices (about 1cm thick).
  3. Place the slices, in layers, into a 26cm baking dish. Alternate the layers with a sprinkling of caster sugar.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, brown sugar and cinnamon.
  5. Add the butter and rub in with your fingers to create breadcrumbs.
  6. Pour the crumbly mixture over the apples and bake for 25 minutes.
  7. Serve warm with ice cream or cream.
