This vegan black velvet cake makes an elegant Halloween cake. 3 layers of black sponge cake filled and covered with cream cheese frosting.

Step 1:

Mix self-raising flour, baking soda, cocoa powder, sugar, melted vegan butter, vanilla and soy milk together in a bowl.

Add black food colouring and divide the cake mix between 3 7-inch cake tins.

Bake at 180°C for 15-18 mins.

Prepare your homemade or ready-made vegan cream cheese frosting.

Step 5:
