This vegan gingerbread house is sweet, spicy and held together with homemade vegan royal icing. It’s fun to decorate and a great Christmas project for children to help with.

Prepare the homemade gingerbread dough.

Roll out the dough and cut out your house shapes.

Don't forget the chimney pieces!

Pop some crushed boiled sweets into the window holes and bake gingerbread until firm at the edges.

Decorate the house pieces with vegan chocolate fingers and/or homemade royal icing.

Glue the pieces together with vegan royal icing, holding them in place with spice bottles until set.

Decorate the roof pieces with vegan chocolate buttons and add them to the house. Stick the chimney on with royal icing.
